SigEp is excited to bring a new fraternity experience to Auburn students. You can be a part of building something great. SigEp’s newest chapter at Auburn University, starting this Fall, will offer a different fraternity experience than you’re used to seeing on campus.
We believe that ninety percent of college takes place outside of the classroom. It’s in this part of the college experience — the unplanned, unstructured hours — that students discover their passions and plan their futures. For our brothers, much of this time is spent with their chapters — it’s where they build close bonds of friendship and learn how to communicate and work with others, to lead, and to speak in front of a crowd. Our brothers accomplish all of this through the Balanced Man Program (BMP). We are excited to bring the BMP to Auburn’ campus this Fall.
The Balanced Man Program is the centerpiece of the SigEp chapter experience and provides the experience that today’s student needs to be successful during and after college. The Balanced Man Program is a non-pledging, non-hazing, four-year, personal, academic, leadership and professional skills development experience. Here is how the Balanced Man Program accomplishes those ideals:
The program is founded on four philosophical tenets:
- Equal rights and responsibilities – Every member is treated with dignity and respect from day one. There’s no pledging or hazing in SigEp
- Continuous development – Growth is lifelong. A mindset focused on learning prepares brothers to lead themselves and others.
- Living the Ritual – Our values of Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love, guide daily actions and hold us to a higher standard.
- Mentoring – Brotherhood means giving and receiving support. Every brother should have impactful mentors and become a mentor.
… and takes the form of four self-paced challenges that span throughout the college career …

… focusing on four pillars of development:
- Know thyself – Reflect on personal values, identity and purpose. Explore communication styles and identify individual strengths and growth areas.
- Seek balance – Practice mental and physical wellness. Engage in service and reflection. Learn to manage stress and prioritize well-being.
- Build relationships – Improve communication and empathy. Learn conflict resolution and strengthen lifelong connections.
- Pursue excellence – Set goals and achieve progress. Build academic, professional and financial literacy. Learn self-discipline and long-term planning.
